Congratulations to the following students for their accomplishment in earning a spot in the Wayne County Jr High Art Exhibit: Aubrey Bodager, Hailey Yarbour, Isaac Franks, Jaydan McMillan, Chris Apple, Beth Kanzeg, Jaimie Critzer, Chris Takacs, Izzy Flickinger, Erica Leiby, Lexi Hall, Lindsey Sykes, Taylor Howman, and Aaron Kline. Special congratulations to First Place winner Isaac Franks for his laser etching of a black and white drawing, First Place winner Chris Takacs for his printmaking of a smart phone, Third Place winner Izzy Flickinger for her print collage, Third Place winner Jaydan McMillen for her 2-D line design, and Honorable Mention winner Aubrey Bodager for her self-portrait color drawing. Read about the exhibit in the March 2nd Daily Record. Copies are hanging in the halls. If you look closely, you will see Mrs. Dailey in the background of one of the pictures. Congratulations to all who were entered.
If you are planning to be on the Track & Field team this spring, please sign up in the office! Remember that you must have a current physical on file in order to start practice on March 16.
There will be no Tech Team training this week due to the art room being used for extra help/RtI.
The library will be closed all week! If you need to check out a book, you may do so before school each day.
Cheerleading tryout practices will be held on March 10, 11, and 12 from 2:45-4:30. The tryouts will be held on Thursday, March 12 beginning at 3:00. All practices are mandatory if you are planning to tryout.
The rescheduled date for last night’s ski club trip is Monday, March 9. The club will return at 8:30 PM. Reminder: This Saturday, March 7 is club day with NO transportation. See you there, and your passes will still be good, since there was no Tuesday trip.
There will be a brief meeting in the High School band room right after school on Friday, March 6 for all 8th grade girls who are interested in trying out for the Flag Line at the High School next year. The first rehearsal is Tuesday, March 10 from 2:45-5 in the High School gym. If you can’t make it to the meeting on Friday, please see Mr. Negro.
Registration forms for Summer Baseball are now in the Information Rack. There are different forms for each age level, so make sure you get the one that is for your age! All forms are due by the end of the day on Friday, March 6.

There will be a 6 week Volleyball Clinic held here at the Middle School every Saturday morning. This clinic is open to all boys and girls at any skill level. Cost is $25. Fliers are in the Information Rack.
The 7th grade boys Father/Son Basketball game has been canceled.
The 8th grade Financial Literacy class is putting on a school DANCE on Friday, March 6. This event includes a Dance-A-Thon for anyone that wants to participate. The last one to stop dancing wins $50! Cost to get into the Dance is $5.00. There is no additional cost to be in the Dance-A-Thon.
As a fundraiser for Mrs. Wright, our Northwestern Kindergarten teacher who is battling Lymphoma, we are selling strength and courage bracelets to show our support for her. The bracelets are $8 each, and are available in the office. All proceeds will go to Mrs. Wright and her family to help them with the costs associated with her many treatment trips to the Cleveland Clinic. Let’s help return the kindness that Mrs. Wright has always shown to our community!
Entry forms are now available in the Information Rack for the Northwestern 5K Spring Balloon Run that will be held on Friday, April 24 at 6:30 PM.
Orders are now being taken for yearbooks for this school year. Order forms are available in the Information rack. There are only 35 available to purchase, so order yours soon!
Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and the Area Health Education Center is providing any interested students to apply for MEDCAMP 2015! MEDCAMP 2015 will be held at NEOMED from July 16-18, 2015! Please see Mrs. Beun if you have questions. Applications must be post marked by April 17.
