New Immunization Requirements for 2010-2011 School Year
Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis:
Tdap booster for all 7th grade students-Tdap - a tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis booster will be required for all incoming 7th grade students for the 2010-2011 school year. This dose is intended to be administered as a booster dose for students who have completed the required doses of the initial series of DTaP/DT/Td vaccine. This requirement will be enforced progressively. If a student has already received a Td booster it would fulfill the requirement.
Polio:
For all pupils entering Kindergarten in the 2010-2011 school year, the final dose of polio vaccine must have been administered on or after the fourth (4th) birthday, regardless of the number of previous doses. This requirement shall be enforced progressively.
Varicella (Chickenpox):
All children entering kindergarten in the 2010-2011 school year are required to provide evidence of having been immunized against varicella disease. Satisfactory evidence of meeting this requirement is two (2) doses of varicella vaccine; the first (1st) dose of vaccine administered on or after the child's first (1st) birthday, and the second (2nd) dose at least twenty-eight (28) days following the first (1st) dose. This requirement shall be enforced progressively. A pupil who has had natural chickenpox, and presents a signed statement from the pupil's parent, guardian, or physician to that effect, is not required to be immunized against chickenpox.
